Connect Large Screen To Your Laptop

Laptop is widely used in our daily life, for it is very convenient, small and portable. Comparing with desktop computer, a laptop has smaller-sized laptop screen and replacement laptop battery. However, when you are working at home, you may want to work on a larger screen. Fortunately, you can connect a separate computer monitor to your notebook computer. To do this, however, your notebook must be equipped with a VGA video output port.

Turn off the computer monitor. You don't want to connect your notebook to the monitor when it is powered on.

Insert one end of the VGA cable into the VGA video output port of your notebook computer. Tighten the screws on the VGA cable to ensure it's securely inserted into the VGA port of your computer.

Connect the opposite end of the VGA cable into the monitor's VGA input slot. This is usually located underneath or on the back of the monitor. Tighten the screws on the VGA connector piece.

Turn on the computer monitor once you've connected your notebook to the monitor.

Open your computer's display settings to choose either an extended or mirrored display. An extended display extends the image between your notebook and your monitor. A mirrored display shows identical content on both your computer and your monitor. Click "Start," "Control Panel," "Appearance and Personalization" and "Adjust Screen Resolution." Select "Extend these displays" or "Duplicate these displays" from the drop-down menu. Click "OK" to save your settings.
